Ferlan Wins Medalist Honors to Lead Tech at Warner Pacific Invite

OREGON CITY, Ore.-  Janelle Ferlan (picture with her longtime coach Bob McCallister) took home medalist honors and both the Oregon Tech men's and women's golf teams finished in second place behind Corban by combined five strokes at the Warner Pacific Invite held at Stone Creek Golf Course Tuesday.  
 
Ferlan fired a tournament best 73 Tuesday to dominate the field by 9 strokes. As a team, the Lady Owls were just three strokes behind the winning total of 649 by Corban. Tech's Darby Twight was tied for 6th with a final round 81 with Kylie Collom finishing in 9th just one stroke back of Twight rounding out Owls in the Top 10.
 
On the men's side, the Owls finished with a three-round total of 871 just two-strokes behind Corban who won the tournament with an 869.
 
Mayson Tibbs and Tyler Franke led the men as Tibbs fired a final round 73 finishing at -1 for the tournament and just three-strokes behind Chris Carew (College of Idaho) and Devery Stewart (Corban) who tied for medalist honors at -4 under par. Franke was just one-stroke behind Tibbs with his final round 74 finishing the tournament at even par.
 
Up next for both teams is the CCC Championships at Pronghorn (Nicklaus Course) in Bend, Oregon Monday and Tuesday April 23 and 24.
