KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.-  The Hustlin' Owls walked away victorious, with their second win of the weekend, after putting 3 goals in on the Mountaineers in a 3-1 home win. Oregon Tech picks up 6 points on the weekend, taking them to 12 points overall in the CCC standings and a record of 4-4, as they prepare to head to Washington next weekend. The loss sees Eastern Oregon drop to 2-4-1 in CCC play and 5-4-2 overall.

Oregon Tech jumped out to an early lead, getting on the scoresheet in the 2nd minute of the contest. Forward, Trinidad Flores, found himself inside the EOU 18 yard box surrounded by defenders. Midfielder, Brennan Gazdik, make a run towards the back post, where Flores was able to find him with a little flick pass, as Gazdik poked the ball into the goal taking the game to 1-0 for Tech.

In the 34th minute Flores would find the net for himself. Senior, Colton Grytness beat the EOU defender down the right flank, forcing the defense to chase the play. Grytness slotted the ball across the backline that Flores collected it inside the 18 and tucked away past the EOU goalkeeper, taking the score 2-0 with the teams entering the half.

After the break, EOU would come out to be dangerous in the attack, working to climb back in the game. A bouncing ball into the Tech 18 would see the ball inadvertently hit the hand of an Owls defender, forcing the official to make the call a penalty kick. Junior goalkeeper, Gerardo Skewes, read the shooter correctly, as a diving save to his left kept the Mountaineers off the score sheet.

In the 82nd minute, EOU's Jesus Trejo would find himself in front of the Tech goal and the ball at his foot. He let a shot rip, the Skewes was unable to control, bringing the game 2-1 with just over 7 minutes left to play. Tech quickly responded, as a ball played past the EOU backline was collected by Grytness on a breakaway with the goalkeeper. The senior calmly shot the ball low to the far corner for the final score of the game, seeing the score line sit at 3-1 as the final whistle sounded.

Oregon Tech heads to Washington next weekend with games at Northwest University and Evergreen State.
