Tech’s Gretz Finishes 3rd at NAIA National Championships, Garcia Advances to Finals

Pittsburg, Kansas – Oregon Tech's Seth Gretz won the Pole Vault event on the way to a 3rd overall finish in the Heptathlon at the 2018 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships Friday at Robert W. Plaster Center on the campus of Pittsburg State University.
 
This is second year in a row that Gretz has finished third in the Heptathlon. Gretz is now a 4x All-American at OIT (2-indoor & 2 Outdoor).   
 
Gretz total of 5057 points breaks the OIT Indoor school record by more than 300 points. His leap today of 4.80m (15'9.75") tied his career best in the Pole Vault.
 
Gretz will compete tomorrow in the Men's Pole Vault event at 11:15 AM
 
Oregon Tech's Ricky Garcia finished second in his heat in the 800M and finished in 5thin the prelims with a time of 1:53.39 setting a new school record.
 
He will run for All-American status Saturday in the finals.
