Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Warner Pacific Knights pick up a big road win to maintain a 1st place position in the CCC standings over the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls by a score of 90-79, on Saturday evening at Danny Miles Court.

After a tough night picking up their first CCC loss in Ashland on Friday evening, Warner Pacific entered tonight's contest looking to respond over the Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech, while Tech looked to pick up the win and put them in a position to take first place in the conference standings.

The first half in the battle for first place in the CCC, saw the two teams battle for any sort of separation. With eight lead changes over the first 20:00 minutes of play, the largest lead for either team was just 6 points. As the clock wore down, a lay-in with :03 seconds left by Owls' guard Jalen Carvalho cut the lead 2 points. A quick inbound and a shot from behind half court by Morris Bethea would bank off the glass and in pushing Warner Pacific's lead to 5 points, with the score 38-35 at the half.

The second half saw the game pick up right where it was left off, intense. With the game staying close for so long, Warner went on a 13-4 run to extend their lead to double-digits for the first time in the game. Tech worked to climb back in the game and cut the lead to 6 points, but a steal for a dunk followed by a 3-pointer would see the Knights go up by 9 in the final minute of play. The Owls tried to use a fouling tactic, putting the Knights on the free-throw line, but as the buzzer sounded the final score was 90-79 with the win for Warner Pacific.

On the night, Warner Pac had five players in double-digits; Morris Bethea (18 points), Xavier Cannefax (17 points), Keaton Bankofier (16 points, 7 rebounds), Collin Malcolm (15 points, 7 rebounds), and De'Jon Bowman (10 points, 8 rebounds).

The Owls were led for the second night in a row by freshman, Harrison Steiger who had 22 points and 6 rebounds. Mitchell Fink added 22 points for Tech.

Oregon Tech will be back in action on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm on Danny Miles Court as they take on regional rival, Southern Oregon.
