Klamath FAlls, Ore. - Oregon Tech Head Women's Basketball Coach Scott Meredith announced today the signing of Kristin Farrell to play basketball for the Lady Owls beginning next season.

A 5-8 guard, Farrell hails from Galena High School in Reno, Nevada where she led the Grizzlies into the state regional playoffs. She was a first-team all-conference selection, a first-team all- region selection and an all-state honorable mention selection. She was chosen as a Reno Gazette-Journal "Top 6 Player in Northern Nevada."

This past season, Farrell averaged 18-points, 3.5-rebounds, 1.2-assists and 2.3-steals per game while shooting 73% from the free throw line.  Her 18-points per game led the Northern Nevada Region and was second overall in the state. She was the state leader in 3-point shooting, making 95 of 201 attempts to finish the season at 47%.

"That is an amazing statistic," stated Oregon Tech Head Coach Scott Meredith. "That's in the neighborhood of Ashleigh Vandenbrink." (Tech's 2nd all-time leading scorer who led the country in 3-point shooting in the 2015-16 season at 48.7%)

"That is incredible accuracy and it's no fluke as she shot 48% from the 3-point line during her junior season. Kristin made 95 three-pointers in 24 games her senior season and is going to give us another legitimate threat on the outside. In addition, she is a terrific all-around player who can attack the rim and get to the foul line as well." The Grizzlies leading scorer the past 3 seasons, Farrell was no secret in Nevada. "Kristin faced defenses designed to limit her opportunities each and every game but still scored 25 or more points in 10 games. She has great mental toughness and found a way to lead her team and get it done. I love her work ethic and unselfish attitude. She is going to be a great teammate and our fans will love watching her play."

Kristin is the daughter of Stephanie and Don Farrell of Reno, Nevada. An honors student, she will be majoring in Communications next fall.
