Klamath Falls, Ore. – Junior Tyler Hieb had a game high 23 points while freshman Lachlan Mckimmadded 18 points off the bench leading No. 12 Oregon Tech (1-0) past Northwest Indian College (0-1) 122-38 in the season opener Saturday Night at Danny Miles Court.

Northwest Indian College took a 1-0 lead before the game started as the Owls were given a technical foul for dunking in warm-ups, it would be the only lead NIC would have on the night.

Two Hieb three-pointers and a Mitchell Fink layup gave OIT the quick start it needed as the Owls jumped out to an 8-3 lead. Tech then went on a 21-4 run to push the lead to 22 points off another three-ball from Hieb at 10:59 mark. The Owls would continue to grow the lead the rest of the night.

"Great team win," said OIT Head Coach Justin Parnell. "I was really impressed with NWIC. They are all young guys and they are trying to build things the right way. Our staff is very proud of the way we competed defensively for 40 minutes and shared the ball offensively. 32 assists are a testament to our unselfishness. This is a group of Oregon Tech guys!"

Oregon Tech's bench had 68-points on the night as all 13-players scored in the game.

Tech's largest lead was 84 that came with 1:01 to play as neither team scored over the final minute.

Tech shot a blistering 67% in the second half and 62% for the game on 46 of 74 shooting.

The Owls also had a big 54-27 advantage in rebounding.

Jason Axtell led NIC with 18 point on the night.

Oregon Tech and Northwest Indian College will play again Sunday Night at 7:30 pm at Danny Miles Court.
