Air Stagnation Advisory

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued an Air Stagnation Advisory which is in effect from 4 AM Friday to noon PST Monday.

LOCATION
South Central Oregon Coast, Curry County Coast, Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, Eastern Douglas County, Foothills, Jackson County, Siskiyou Mountains, Southern Oregon Cascades, Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County.

Including the cities of Coquille, Drain, Elkton, Roseburg, Sutherlin, Green, Myrtle Creek, Canyonville, Glendale, Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Steamboat, Toketee Falls, Medford, Ashland, Altamont, Klamath Falls, Beatty, Bly, Chemult, Crescent, Gilchrist, Sprague River, Adel, Lakeview, and Valley Falls

WHEN
4:00 AM Friday to 12:00 PM Monday.

Air quality
Poor mixing and light winds will keep stagnant conditions in place through at least Monday morning. Pollutants may be trapped near the ground level and this may result in reduced air quality at times.

Locations include
Valleys in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath and Lake counties.

Impacts
Air quality may be reduced at times. Diminished air quality can create respiratory problems, especially for sensitive groups.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions

An air stagnation advisory indicates that due to limited movement of an airmass across the advisory area, pollution will increase.

Freezing Fog Advisory

***Advisory Extended until Noon, 1/25/19***

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Freezing Fog Advisory...which is in effect until 12 PM PST Friday.

LOCATION
Klamath Basin - Including the cities of Altamont and Klamath Falls

WHEN
Now until 8:00 AM Friday.

Additional Details

Visibility:
Less than a quarter of a mile.

Timing:
Dense fog has already reached portions of Klamath Falls and will continue through 8 AM PST Friday morning.

Locations:
Klamath Falls and immediate surrounding areas, including Highway 97 near Green Springs.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions

A Freezing Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
