Master Sgt Juan Canopii (Kingsley Field)

A statement from 173rd Fighter Wing, Kingsley Field regarding the plane crash that occurred Sunday in Klamath County.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our Airmen, Master Sgt. Juan Canopii. Juan and his wife perished Sunday, October 1 in a small plane crash in Klamath County. Juan was a key part of #TeamKingsley and touched many of the lives of the Airmen he served with. He was well known for his humor and cheerful personality, and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his friends and families during this tragic time. He served with the 173rd Fighter Wing as a member of the aircrew flight equipment section."

The Cirrus SR-22 aricraft that Canopii and his wife were riding in crashed on Old Baldy Mountain, a remote section of Klamath County on Sunday, October 1st.
