Winter Storm Warning

Siskiyous & Southern Oregon Cascades

Current until 7:00 AM Friday

Affected Area(s): Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades

  • WHAT
    • Moderate to heavy snow above 4000 feet expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. In the Warning area, above 4000 feet, additional snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected.
    • Above 4000 feet, in the advisory area, additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected.
  • WHERE
    • Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.
    • Winter Storm Warning for areas from Lake of the Woods northward to include Highway 140 and Highway 62 above 4000 feet.
    • Winter Weather Advisory south of Lake of the Woods to include Highway 66 and Siskiyou Summit on I-5.
  • WHEN
    • Until 7 AM Friday. For elevations below 5000 feet, snow is not expected to stick to the roads until after 6 PM this evening.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    • Look for snow covered roads and significant reductions in visibility at times.

Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions. If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you. The safest place during a winter storm is indoors. A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is likely and poses a threat to life and property. Take protective action now.

Eastern Jackson, Klamath, Lake and Modoc Counties

Current until 4:00 AM Friday

Affected Area(s): Central and Eastern Lake County; Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County; Klamath Basin. North Central and Southeast Siskiyou County

  • WHAT
    • Snow occurring. Plan on slippery road conditions.Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches, are expected.
  • WHERE
    • Higher elevations of Klamath and Lake Counties to include Highway 97 mostly from Chiloquin northward
    • Highway 140 at Quartz Mountain
    • Highway 140 on Warner Mountain Summit
    • Klamath Basin and Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County to include Highway 140 east of Bly. 
    • Elevations above 5000 feet in North Central andSoutheast Siskiyou County to include Everitt Memorial Highway.
  • WHEN
    • Until 7 AM Friday.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    • Prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibilities at times.
