WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Representative Greg Walden (R-Hood River) released a video statement encouraging that everyone follows the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) COVID-19 guidelines.

“I want to encourage everyone to follow the guidelines put out by the CDC. You can visit coronavirus.gov to find out the latest information.

If you're young or otherwise healthy, you're at risk and your activities can increase the risk of others.

It's critical that you do your part to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Listen and follow the directions of your state and local authorities.

If you feel sick, stay at home, do not go to work.

If your children are sick, keep them at home and contact your medical provider. If you're an older person or have a serious underlying health condition, stay home and stay away from other people.

If someone in your household has tested positive, keep the entire household at home.

Work or study from home, as dictated by the environment and by the state and local authorities.

Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10. Avoid eating or drinking at bars and restaurants - instead use pickup or delivery options.

Avoid discretionary travel where possible.

These are just some of the guidelines and they will evolve and change as this virus evolves and changes. Again, go to coronavirus.gov for the latest information.

Let's end this virus together, let's win this battle, let's stay safe and healthy. And thanks to our health care professionals who are on the front lines helping us all along the way.”
