KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Senior Nohea Waiwaiole earned a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds as she led Oregon Tech (16-4 CCC, 22-8) to a 73-47 victory over the College of Idaho (11-9 CCC, 15-13) on Saturday night at Danny Miles Court, taking the Lady Owls to a 12 win streak, the longest since 2013-14.

"Our team was very determined tonight," said Scott Meredith. "While we missed some chip shots early, our defense was solid and never let C of I get into any offensive rhythm. Our bench really stepped up and gave us quality minutes. I'm really proud how this team has developed and matured."

This victory insures that the Owls will either take or split for second place in the Cascade Conference with competitor Corban University, who is playing tonight and tomorrow morning against Walla Walla.

The Lady Yotes played strong defense in the first quarter, keeping OIT from gaining a lead as they tied the score five times. However, a bucket from senior Megan Morris near the end of the stanza started off an 8-2 run for Tech that gave them the edge they needed.

The Lady Owls outscored CI 14-9 in the second with another 8-2 run to claim a 28-19 advantage on the half before locking down their advantage with 10-2 and 9-2 runs in the third.

Led by Mackenzie Royce, College of Idaho made an effort to come back in the fourth with a 9-2 run but still fell short of outscoring OIT.

Royce scored a vast majority of the Lady Yote's points, adding 20 and taking game high honors. Jocelyn Cook-Cox followed with six points and six rebounds.

Sophomore Abby Kreiser and senior Bailey Nelson each notched 10 points for Oregon Tech, with Kreiser also grabbing five rebounds.

Waiwaiole just missed a triple-double with eight assists, leading the Owls to a 13-7 assisting advantage.

OIT held a 45-35 rebounding edge and led 24-10 from their bench.

Tech dominated in the paint 32-10 and forced 16 turnovers while committing 14, outscoring CI 11-3 in points off turnovers.

College of Idaho struggled to make shots, with a shooting average of only 26.6% for the game.

The Lady Owls will be hosting a first-round playoff game in the CCC Quarterfinals presented by US Bank on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at Danny Miles Court. Tickets available at www.oregontechowls.com
