Waiwaiole has Triple-Double to Lead Owls Past Lions

PORTLAND Ore.-  Nohea Waiwaiole had a triple-double leading Oregon Tech (17-8, 10-5 CCC) to a 79-54 Cascade Conference win over Multnomah University (1-23, 1-13 CCC) Saturday night at Lytle Gym.
 
Waiwaiole finished with 13-rebounds, 10-points, and 10-assists to complete the first triple-double in school history.
 
OIT had five players score in double figures with Megan Morris leading the Owls with 18 points followed by 13 points each from Amanda Constant, and Bailey Nelson with Mikaela Shumaker adding 11 points to the Tech total.
 
The Hooter took a 33 to 28 lead into the halftime break but opened the game-up in the third quarter out-scoring the lions 26-10 and put the game away with a 20 to 10 edge in the fourth quarter to win going away 79-54.
 
The Lady Owls had 21 assists and only 9 turnovers for the game with 8 steals.
 
OIT will next travel to Ashland, Oregon on Wednesday to take on Southern Oregon University before returning home on Saturday, February 10 for the Annual Black-out for hunger event against Northwest Christian.
