Vehicle Pursuit Near Keno Ends in California

On September 3rd at 6:34pm, a Klamath County Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a Ford pickup near Keno, Oregon, adjacent to Clover Creek Road and Puckett Lane. The driver of the pickup failed to stop and continued on Clover Creek Road to Highway 66 towards Klamath Falls.

While on Highway 66 the pickup driver swerved towards another Deputy in his patrol vehicle. The pursuit proceeded onto Highway 97 South, and California Highway Patrol and Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office were contacted.

Klamath County Deputies followed the pickup into California where the California Highway Patrol and Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office were able to stop the pickup driver. The pursuit ended 32 miles into California near the U.S. Forest Service maintenance area at Grassy Flats on Highway 97.

Adam Brooks of Keno was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol without further incident. Brooks was transported to the Siskiyou County Jail in Yreka, California, where it was agreed that Brooks would be held on California charges until he could extradited to the Klamath County Jail for charges in Klamath County.
