Tech’s Bohman and Sampson Named CCC Players of the Week

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Two Oregon Tech volleyball players, Chase Bohman and Lindsey Sampson, received Cascade Conference "Red Lion" Player of the Week honors for their efforts this past week the Conference office announced today.
 
Bohman, a senior outside hitter from Creswell, Oregon, had an exceptional week with 99 total Kills, leading the Owls to a 5-1 record. She had a .259 Hitting Average with 16.5 Kills per match and 4.50 Kills per game over the six matches. In her last 2 matches she scored a total of 55 points on her own. 70 Digs 4 Blocks and 7 Aces 1.78.
 
Sampson, a freshman Libero from Folsom, California had a record breaking week for the Lady Owls with a total of 93 digs. She recorded 23 aces on the week including a school record 9 in one match against Mills College. On the week she averaged 15.5 Digs per match and 4.23 digs per game.
 
Head Coach Andrew Clifton said, "I am happy for Chase and Lindsey. This is a nice surprise but shows that all the hard work this team has put in is starting to payoff."
 
Up next: The Lady Owls will take their 5-2 pre-season record into Cascade Conference play next weekend as they open up in Caldwell at No. 7 College of Idaho, Friday August 31 at 6:00 pm.  Things don't get any easier as they play at No. 15 Eastern Oregon in La Grande on Saturday at 5:00 pm before wrapping up the weekend at Walla Walla at 1:00 pm in College Place, Washington.
