KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Freshman Kristin Farrell scored a career high 19 points – shooting 5-for-9 from long range – and freshman Courtney Clemmer scored 21 to tie her own career high as they led the #20 ranked Lady Owls (23-8) to their 13th win in a row, a 79-62 victory over the Knights of Warner Pacific (15-13) in the CCC Quarterfinals presented by U.S. Bank at Danny Miles Court.

"It feels really good to get through this first round," said Head Coach Scott Meredith. "Warner was a tough matchup and well coached, lots of seniors and an aggressive style of play. We had a great first half defensively and needed all of that 20 point lead to bring it home. Our bench was fantastic and we played well down the stretch."

Tech opened the game with a 16-3 run in the first and a 14-3 in the second to end the half with a 40-20 lead, quickly cruising past Warner Pacific. A 10-2 run in the third further extended the lead.

Though WPU made a valiant effort in the fourth, with a 15-2 run putting them within 10 points of OIT, that was the closest they got, as a 12-0 run by the Owls stopped them short from gaining an edge.

The Knights shooting suffered in the first half as they ended with only a 16% field goal percentage and just a 10% average from long range. They improved in the second half, bringing their field goal percentage up to 27.3%, but it was not enough.

Bailey Allen led Warner Pacific in scoring with 12 points, shooting 8-for-10 from the charity stripe. Emily Peters and Gabriella Bruno followed with eight points each, and Deepika Kapil added six points and grabbed five rebounds.

Clemmer led the Owls and took game high honors with her 21 points and also grabbed nine rebounds for a near double-double. Senior Nohea Waiwaiole notched another 12 points for Tech and added six assists, and senior Megan Morristallied 11 points.

WPU forced 18 turnovers while only committing 15 of their own but were outscored 15-9 by OIT in points off turnovers.

Oregon Tech led 28-14 from the paint and took a 45-36 advantage from their bench.

The Lady Owls will hit the road for a second-round playoff game at Corban University in the CCC Semifinals presented by US Bank on Friday night at 7:00 pm in Salem, Oregon. The game will be broadcast on 104.3.
