Klamath County would like to welcome Phillip Squibb as the new Director of our Developmental Disabilities department.

Phillip brings years of experience as a clinical therapist, school social worker, teacher, and education director to his new role. He previously worked in the Illinois and Oregon public school systems and has over a decade of experience in reading, writing, and accommodating IEP and 504 plans. Phillip has also spent the past six years working as a therapist and the Education Director at Dragonfly Transitions.

“Phillip brings a vision to the department that will propel the services we deliver to our client base consistent with the values of our community,” said Klamath County Commission Chair Derrick DeGroot.

Phillip began his collegiate journey attending a junior college on a full ride tennis scholarship. He then transferred to a four-year college where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. After graduating, Phillip worked in the Illinois public school system; taught English overseas; and traveled throughout the states acting, directing, and training staff with the Missoula Children’s Theatre Company. Through his experience as a teacher and working in theatre, he decided to focus his education and career on behavioral health. Phillip then completed his Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Within the greater Klamath Falls community, Phillip has served as a trustee on the Klamath Community College Foundation and served as a board member for the Klamath County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board. He also volunteers as a basketball coach with the Special Olympics and coaches a variety of his own kids’ sports teams. He spends his downtime glamping and exploring the vast outdoor opportunities in the area with his family.
