Sophomore Duo Leads Owls Past Clams

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Tyler Hieb scored 18 points andMitchell Fink added 17 points, eight assists and six steals to lead the Oregon Tech Owls (9-4 overall, 2-1 CCC) to an 82-74 Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball win over The Evergreen State College (1-9, 0-3) on Friday night inside Costantino Recreation Center.

Tech shot 50% from the floor (28-56) including 5-of-16 from long range on the way to the win.

The Owls led at the half 34-31 as they held the Geoduck to just 39% shooting.

A strong second-half carried the Hooter as they out-scored Evergreen 48-41.

OIT had 16 assists and 16 turnovers while forcing TESC into 15 turnovers.

Oregon Tech was 21-of-31 at the foul line while Evergreen was just 16-of-30.

Zach Bernards provided a nice punch off the bench with 10 points in 21 minutes.

The Owls will play at Northwest University Saturday night at 7:30 pm, the Eagles upset No.9 Southern Oregon 98-96 in double-overtime in Kirkland, Washington.
