Snow Blankets Region, 24-Hour Snow Totals
/Tuesday’s storm brought wet heavy snow to much of Southern Oregon and Northern California. Measurable snow was seen as far south as Cottonwood, California, 11 miles south of Redding.
This caused issues for travelers on Interstate-5 as Tuesday night into mid-day Wednesday, I-5 was closed southbound to semi trucks at the Oregon-California boarder and northbound a few miles north of Redding. Vehicles were allowed through if they met certain winter weather criteria (such as caring or using chains).
Another Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Valentines Day, with the potential for an additional 2-4 inches of new snow.
