Sheriff Seeks Witnesses in Shooting

Monday afternoon (Nov. 13, 2017) an injured male victim was treated at Sky Lakes Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the head and face. Approximately 4:00 PM a shooting occurred on Highway 66 between Stewart Lennox and Keno. 

The Klamath County Sheriffs Office has released a statement on the incident, providing details on the shooting as well as asking for help from witnesses. 

On Monday, November 13, 2017 at 16:20 hours Klamath County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies and Klamath Falls Police (KFPD) officers responded to Sky Lakes Medical Center on a male was being treated that suffered wounds from gunshot. The 911 call from hospital staff advised victim (name withheld) 28 years of age, was brought to the hospital by private vehicle after being shot. Surgery was performed on the victim for serious injuries to his head and face.

The shooting occurred at approximately 4pm on Highway 66 between Stewart Lennox and Keno. The suspect vehicle followed the victim vehicle west bound on Highway 66.

Several shots fired into the vehicle, which ultimately caused victim injuries.

The suspect vehicle left the scene. The suspect vehicle is reported to have been an older brown single cab pick-up truck.

This case is under active investigation for the crimes of Assault I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

No arrests have been made.
