Ross Pleads Guilty to Attempted Arson and Recklessly Endangering

On August 2, 2018, Klamath Falls Police Department arrived at 465 Adams Street to a complaint that Brian Leroy Ross was threatening to blow up the neighborhood.  Ross was agitated with individuals living on his property whom would not leave per his directive.  

Ross indicated he was done and was going to blow up his house and thereby scare them off.  Ross also indicated he had cut the gas line to his house and was filling it with natural gas.  Ross had a lighter in his possession. 

KFPD officers smelled natural gas and attempted to get Ross to speak with them.  KFPD and the Klamath County Fire District 1 had evacuated individuals in the surrounding neighborhood. 

Ross eventually threw down the lighter he had been holding and laid on the ground with his hands out to his sides.  KFPD arrested him for Attempted Arson I, Disorderly Conduct and Recklessly Endangering. 

On January 11, 2019, after undergoing psychological evaluations and treatment, Ross was found fit to proceed and pled guilty to Attempted Arson I and Recklessly Endangering. 

Ross was sentenced to sixty-five months in the state penitentiary with thirty-six months post-prison supervision.
