Klamath Falls News received the following statement from Representative E. Werner Reschke (R-Dist. 56) co-sponsor of House Bill 4035 after the Oregon Governors Office announced the signing of the bill into law. HB4035 is also known as the tuition assistance bill for Oregon National Guard Members.

Oregon is the only state in the union that did not give college tuition assistance to qualified national guard members. As a member on the House Committee for Higher Education & Workforce, I heard the testimony for this bill to bring Oregon’s national guard members are on par with the rest of the nation and to ensure we keep our national guard strong and ready for the challenges ahead. I co-sponsored this bill and am excited those who serve our county at Kingsley Field will be able to improve their education by taking advanced of tuition assistance.
