Red Cross Responds to Home Fire in Klamath Falls

At approximately 5:29 pm on November 7, 2017, Klamath County Fire District 1, with assistance from Kingsley Field Fire Department responded to a reported garage fire on the 1800 block of Crescent Avenue. 

While en route, crews were advised that the house was also involved. Thankfully, a neighbor alerted the occupants and they were able to escape unharmed. The fire was declared under control at 5:53 pm. 

Personnel remained on scene until 8:24 pm to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and conduct an investigation. The cause appears to be an electrical malfunction in the garage. Damage was estimated to be $60,000. Three adult occupants and two dogs received assistance from the American Red Cross. Klamath Falls City Police Department assisted with traffic control.

Disaster responders with the local American Red Cross responded to a home fire disaster on Tuesday November 7th at approximately 8:00 p.m.

The Red Cross provided resources to help address the immediate basic needs of those affected such as temporary housing, food, clothing, comfort kits with toiletry items, information about recovery services, and health and mental health services. Additional information about this incident, if available, may be obtained from the local first responding agency/fire department.
