SUMMER LAKE, Ore.—ODFW will host a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 14 at the Summer Lake Lodge to discuss acquisition of the Edmunds Well Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is a 560-acre property that ODFW has been interested in acquiring since 2015, when the owner approached ODFW about a sale. It’s about a 10-mile drive from the wildlife area headquarters building (three miles in a direct line from northeast corner of the wildlife area).

Staff at the meeting will discuss the significant wildlife and habitat features of the property, take public comments and address any questions and concerns from the public. As with other parts of the wildlife area, this new property would be open to hunting, fishing and wildlife viewing if acquired by ODFW.

People wanting to comment on the potential acquisition can also email odfw.commission@state.or.us.
