Public Meeting on Klamath Wildlife Area July 31 in Klamath Falls

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.—ODFW will host a public meeting on July 31 to discuss a 10-year update of the Klamath Wildlife Area Management Plan and plans to add about 200 acres to the wildlife area.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at OSU Extension Office, 6923 Washburn Way, Klamath Falls.

The wildlife area management plan was first adopted 10 years ago, so a revision is due. No major management changes are proposed.

ODFW will also discuss plans to potentially acquire an additional 200 acres near the Miller Island Unit to add to the historic wetland habitat of the wildlife area. The property is currently under a conservation easement with NRCS.

ODFW will take public comments at the meeting. Comments can also be sent to ODFW.Commission@state.or.us The property acquisition will also be discussed at the Oct. 12 Commission meeting in Klamath Falls.
