Oregon Tech Inches up to No. 20 in NAIA Softball Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech ran their record to 31-11 and with a 18-6 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference action moved up two places to No. 20 in the fourth regular season edition of the 2018 NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, announced Tuesday by the national office.
 
Oregon Tech will finish up the CCC regular season this weekend at Northwest University this Friday and Saturday. Friday's doubleheader will be played Everest Park in Kirkland, Washington with Saturday's doubleheader being played at Cedar Park Christian High School in Bothell. Start times for both doubleheaders is 11:00 am.
 
The Owls swept Providence University in a four game series last weekend but were unable to gain any ground on No. 12 Corban (19-5 CCC) and No.8 Southern Oregon (19-5 CCC) as both those teams also swept. OIT remains one game back of the Warriors and Raiders for first place in the CCC standing heading into the final weekend of CCC play. SOU will travel to La Grande to take on Eastern Oregon (14-9 CCC) and Corban takes the long haul to Helena, Montana to take on Carroll College (13-10 CCC). Both SOU and Corban moved up one spot in the week's poll.
 
For the fourth-straight week, Georgia Gwinnett latches on as the No. 1 pick in the Poll. The Grizzlies gathered all 19 first-place votes and 529 total points. The 10 NAIA National Championship Opening Round host sites will be announced on Wednesday, April 25.
