KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech Athletic Department has announced their upcoming 2018 fall sports schedule for volleyball and both the men's and women's teams of cross country, golf and soccer.

Coming off a 10-15 overall mark in volleyball last season, Oregon Tech went 8-12 in the very tough Cascade Collegiate Conference. In the 2017 season they found themselves in eight 5-set matches in which half were against nationally ranked opponents. Oregon Tech also beat number 25th ranked (at the time) Eastern Oregon University at home in 3-sets. The Owls ended the 2017 season in 7th place in the CCC and missed the playoffs by one spot for the second year in a row.

Oregon Tech Volleyball will open their 29-match season on the road to play Western Oregon University and Concordia University (both NCAA Div. II) on August 16th and 17th. Then they will travel to William Jessup University and Southern Oregon University for tournaments. Cascade Conference play will start on August 31st when the Owls travel to the College of Idaho and will play their first home match on Friday, September 7th versus Walla Walla University.

Fourth year women's soccer Head Coach Brandon Porter leads an Owls squad coming off a promising 2017 season that saw the team post a 10-7 overall mark, and a school record mark of 8-3 in CCC play, good for a 3rd place conference finish before being knocked out in the Cascade Conference Tournament 1-0 by eventual runners-up Northwest University.

The Lady Owls will open up Friday, August 10th with scrimmages against Lane CC and Yakima Valley at 11:00am and 5:00pm in Eugene. The Owls will then host Rogue Community College and College of the Redwoods on Saturday, August 18th as part of a set of doubleheader games paired with the Oregon Tech men's team.

After a full non-conference schedule against Southern Oregon, Linfield, Sierra Nevada, William Jessup, UC Merced, and Menlo, the Lady Owls will open up CCC play at home against College of Idaho and Rocky Mountain on September 14th and 15th.

The Tech men's soccer team, and seventh year Head Coach Matt Munhall, finished very strong with a 5-2-1 record in its last seven matches and have now made the CCC playoffs the past two seasons. The Owls finished with an overall record of 8-8-1.

Tech opens play at home on August 18th with two scrimmages against Rogue Community College and College of the Redwoods at noon and 6:00 pm respectively. The Hustlin' Owls will then play their next five games on the road in California before returning home to play Sierra Nevada College on September 9th at 1:30 pm to wrap up the pre-season. College of Idaho and Rocky Mountain College come visiting September 14 and 15 to open up Cascade Conference play at the OIT Soccer Field.

Eighth year Head Coach Jack Kegg and his cross country squads (men, women)  finished last season ranked at No.10 in the NAIA. The Owls open up the 2018 season at Linfield College on August 31 at McMinnville, Oregon. The CCC championships will be held in Issaquah, Washington on November 3 hosted by Northwest University, with high expectations to duplicate their 2017 success at the NAIA Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 16.

The men's golf team returns after a very successful 2017-18 season that saw the team finish the year at the NAIA National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvas, IL. The Owl men were co-conference regular season champs and won the tournament championships. This marked the second time in the program's young history that the Owls have accomplished the task. The Tech women won the CCC regular and the postseason tournament and returned to the NAIA National tournament for the second year in a row. The Owls finished the 2017-18 season ranked at No. 25 in the NAIA.

The Owls begin the fall season and CCC play on September 10 and 11 on the road at the CCC opener at difficult Emerald Valley GC in Creswell, Oregon. Tech plays on their home course, Running Y, on October 8th and closes the early season out on October 29th and 30th at the Pacific Coast Hwy Invite hosted by Menlo College in Monterey, California.
