Open Auditions for Wizard of Oz at the Ross Ragland Theater

Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Ross Ragland Theater invites Basin actors, singers and dancers to join them as they present this summer’s community production of Wizard of Oz – which opens August 3, 2018.

Auditions will be held at the Ross Ragland Theater Cultural Center on Friday, June 1 from 6PM- 7:30 for kids ages 6-12 and 7:30pm – 9pm for adults (vocal auditions). Saturday June 2 from 9am- 1pm is open to everyone, come prepared to move (dance auditions and acting scenes) and 5pm-7pm to accommodate high schools students who couldn’t attend the morning auditions due to SAT’s. Callback list will be posted by 3pm on Saturday (evening auditions will be told in person) Sunday June 3 from 1pm-4pm for call backs and select auditions.

Prospective cast members wishing to audition should come ready to learn.  Audition songs, dances and scenes will be taught/given to auditioners.  Friday’s focus will be vocal auditions; Saturday’s audition will be dancing as well as scenes and Sunday will be callbacks.

Rehearsals will begin June 4 and run Monday-Thursday with some Fridays and weekends as needed.  There are six performances starting Friday, August 3, 2018 and ending Sunday, August 12, 2018.

Directing the show is Mazama High School Chorale teacher Caresse Robertson, who returns to Klamath Falls and the Ross Ragland stage after several years’ hiatus. "Wizard of Oz is a wonderful musical full of vivid characters and a journey that helps remind us to find within ourselves those strengths that can carry us through any difficult time; brains, heart courage...  I remember seeing the Ross Ragland's production years ago and falling love with the characters and the story. I want to breathe new life into this fantastical story and create something great for the Klamath Community," stated Robertson
