Klamath Falls, OR - The Ross Ragland Theater is pleased to announce auditions to the 2019 Summer Production, The Addams Family – A New Musical, on Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14, 2019.  Callbacks will be Wednesday, May 15, as needed.  Actors aged sixteen and up are invited to arrive at the Ross Ragland at 5:45 PM each night, prepared to sing, read, and dance.

Directed by Dan and Faye Crenshaw and choreographed by Sam Burris, the play will open on Friday, August 2 and close on Sunday, August 11.  The run will include four evening performances and two Sunday matinees.

Interested actors must bring a prepared song with accompaniment (a trackless CD, digital file, or sheet music – music accompaniment with recorded voicing will not be permitted) and will be asked to read, sing, and perform original choreography in a group.

The production crew will be looking to cast the parts of the beloved characters from Charles Addams’ 1938, original comics and the iconic, 1964 television show: Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and Lurch plus the parts of Wednesday’s fiancée, Lucas Beineke and his parents Mal and Alice.  Additionally, there will be a raucous and fun chorus of Addams ancestors.

The musical features an original story filled with laughs and tenderness as Gomez must face every father’s nightmare.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up, fallen in love and wants to get married.  Even worse? Her fiancé is a decidedly un-Addams-like guy.  Lucas is a sweet, smart young man from a respectable Ohioan family – all of whom her parents have never met.  If that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides the engagement to her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.
