One new fire yesterday and more lightning possible

ALTURAS, Calif. - Firefighters held all wildland fires on the Modoc National Forest yesterday, adding one new start to their list. Additional fires are possible, and more lightning is forecasted.

The Fairchild Fire near Mapes Reservoir (T44N R10E Sec36) was last reported at approximately 22 acres and 10-percent containment. The Antelope Fire was held within containment lines through the windy afternoon. It is 65-percent contained. More accurate mapping showed the Antelope fire is 112 acres.
