One More Day of Possible Lightning Followed by More Heat

ALTURAS, Calif.— Modoc Interagency Communications Center reports light initial attack yesterday with three new fires reported and 24 remaining active fires. Crews will continue checking and calling fires out today.

The Battle Fire (northwest of Dry Lake Fire Station) remained at 223 acres with crews now calling it 100-percent contained.

The National Weather Service is calling for the possibility of more lightning today followed by above-normal temperatures through Thursday.
