CHILOQUIN, Ore. - The Marsh Fire continues to burn on the Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge and Fremont Winema National Forest near Silver Lake Highway and Military Crossing Road.

The fire is currently 10% contained, and due to more accurate mapping, the acreage has adjusted to 2,661 acres.

The fire is currently being held to the north at Military Crossing Rd and to the east by containment line.

Today, firefighters continued cold trailing and mopping hotspots on the south and west sides of the fire. Minimal fire behavior has been observed in the last 24 hours due to firefighting efforts and recent precipitation in the area.

Fire containment is expected to increase over the next few days.

With the decrease in fire activity and recent weather, the incident's command will be transitioned back to the local type 4 organization tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM.

The public is asked to drive with care and be aware that the incident may cause an increase in fire traffic along Military Crossing Road and Silver Lake Highway.
