Link Trail Fire Contained

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Link Trail fire, which burned 30 acres between the Link River and Highway 97 is now 100% contained effective 8:42 p.m. yesterday.
Containment is a measure of how much of a fuel break has been completed around the fire.
Multiple agencies responded, including Oregon Department of Forestry, Fremont-Winema National Forest, Klamath County Fire District 1, Keno Rural Fire Protection District, Chiloquin Fire and Rescue, Klamath County Fire District 4, Kingsley Field Fire Department, Oregon State Police, Klamath Falls Police Department, Klamath County Emergency Management, PacifiCorp, and Bureau of Reclamation.
Active firefighting operations have been completed. Crews from Klamath County Fire District 1 and Oregon Department of Forestry are conducting mop up operations and projected to continue doing so for the next 72 hours. This will extinguish any remaining embers or hot spots.
No evacuations were ordered. There were no injuries and no structural damage. Highway 97 was closed for several hours to allow responders and aircraft safe access to the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
