KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Head Golf Coach Jeff Corkill has announced the signing of Payton Canon of Greenwood Village, Colorado to play for the Lady Owls starting next fall.

Canon is from Cherry Creek High School where she has been a three-time first team All-Centennial league honoree in her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. She tied for 6th last year at the 5A State Championships. She was named to the All-Academic first team as a junior and is a member of the Student Athletic Committee.

"We are very excited to sign a player of Payton's caliber," said Corkill. "Payton comes to Oregon Tech from the highly competitive Cherry Creek HS in the Denver, Colorado area. She has competed at the highest level in both her high school and junior golf competitions. We expect Payton to come in and compete for a top spot on the team as a freshman. Payton is a quality young lady with not only an exceptional golf game but is a very good student. We look forward to seeing how she develops and competes at the college level and feel as though she will do some very special things over her career."

Payton is the daughter of Shari and Tom Canon and will be a Health Care Management major at Oregon Tech in the Fall.
