Lady Owls Shock No. 9 Southern Oregon

ASHLAND, Ore. -- Megan Morris scored 20 points and helped Oregon Tech shoot 49 percent in its 78-70 upset of No. 9 Southern Oregon on Wednesday night at Mountain Avenue Gym.
 
The loss marked the end of a 13-game win streak for SOU (20-2 overall, 12-2 Cascade Conference), which had an early eight-point lead but finished at a 32-percent clip from the field (24-of-75).
 
The Owls (18-8, 11-5) got 16 points and six assists off the bench from Abby Kreiser, who made eight straight free throws down the stretch.
 
The two teams entered the halftime break tied at 34.
 
OIT came out of the break with more confidence and out-scored the Raiders 22-19 to take a 56-53 entering the final stanza
 
Tech was 14 of 16 from the free-throw line to seal the win 78-70.
 
Oregon Tech led for 19:36 of the game while SOU held the lead for 16:29, the game was tied three-times for 3:55. Tech took its largest lead at 10-points with 32 seconds left in the game. The Raiders took their largest lead also at 10-points with 1:07 remaining in the first quarter.
 
The Lady Owls will remain idle until Saturday, February 10 when they host No. 16 Northwest Christian University at 4:00 pm on Black-out for hunger night at Danny Miles Court.
