Klamath Union HS Graduates 129 Seniors

Keeping with tradition, the 2018 Senior Class celebrates mid field following the graduation ceremony. June 9, 2018 (Brian Gailey).
On a bitter cold June Saturday; two-dozen faculty & administration, and a standing room only crowd of friends and family packed inside Modoc Field to bare witness to the graduation of the 129 Seniors Pelicans walk up to the stage as students and walk off the stage as graduates.
Six Valedictorian's and one Salutatorian spoke at the ceremony: Andrew Cherpeski, Kori Delgado, Audrey Lindgren, Tatjana Luce, Christina Mueller and Casandra Shih, plus Salutatorian Tia Thompson.
As the students spoke they all gave encouragement to their fellow classmates.

Cherpeski, spoke of a time where he was challenged lifting weights. His message, "You are stronger than you think you are."
Mueller, spoke about shoes and how you should "always put your best foot forward."

One common theme between all the student speakers - a roast of the modular classrooms they spent most of their high school career attending while at KUHS.
Selected as the class representative, Robert Jackson spoke to the class about being ready for life's challenges. "The Class of 2018 is going to do great things for this community and possibly for this whole county," said Jackson.
As students walked across the stage, many were excited and could not contain their actions. One zoomed across with her arms behind her, another did a back flip. Many flashed "hang loose" and "I love you" gestures with their hands. Several clicked their heals as they exited the stage. One senior was so ready for the real world, he received his diploma and kept walking right out of Modoc Field.
"Finally, Class of 2018 from all of us at Klamath Union High School we wish you success in your future and that you may always air in the direction of compassion and kindness to others in all that you do," KUHS Principal, Tony Swan.
