Klamath County Museum’s Photo of the Week for June 9, 2019, shows a group of young people enjoying a day at Crater Lake National Park.

No information about the photo was recorded. Still, we found the image interesting because of the happy expressions, the vintage of the automobile, and the clothing fashions that included neckties for both young men and women.

Judging by the clothing, and from what little we can see of the vehicle, we’re guessing the photo was taken in the late 1920s.

Notable Crater Lake events that occurred 100 years ago, in 1919, included a fishing trip by author Zane Grey, construction of a road from Prospect to the park, and a failed attempt by Congress expand the park’s boundary to take in Diamond Lake.
