KF Woman Arrested on Arson Charges

Stacy Michelle Cummings, 48, arrested and charged with Arson 1 after a fire broke out in her home in the Plaza Gardens Mobile Home Park.

Yesterday, at 9:43 AM, Klamath County 9-1-1 dispatched Firefighters from Klamath County Fire District 1 and Deputies from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office to the Plaza Gardens Mobile Home Park, 2545 Summers Lane #42, on the report of a fully engulfed manufactured home.

The responding KCSO Deputy was familiar with the home and the residents from previous contacts. After arriving he noticed the residents walking away from the scene carrying belongings.

The Deputy contacted the residents, Cummings and her sister, and after a brief investigation he arrested Cummings and lodged her in the Klamath County Jail for Arson I.

During the course of the fire, a KCFD1 firefighter received minor injuries and two neighbors were transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

The Oregon State Fire Marshal and the KCFD1 Fire Marshal have requested assistance with the investigation from Oregon State Arson Investigators.
