On July 20th at 7:55pm, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies and medical personnel were dispatched to the Cold Springs area west of Rocky Point, Oregon to the report of a man seriously injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The shooting was accidental in nature as reported by witnesses. As a result of the incident Robert V. Huycke (58 years of age) was transported by ambulance to Sky Lakes Medical Center. When deputies later arrived at the hospital to conduct a follow-up to the investigation, they learned the subject had passed away as a result of a single gunshot injury.

There is no indication of foul play and the investigation was completed following notification of the victim’s family. Complications in locating Robert Huycke’s next of kin resulted in the delay of information regarding this incident being released to the public.

On July 20th, 2018 at 8:34pm, Klamath County Sheriff’s office deputies responded to a single ATV crash reported in the 26000 block of Rocky Point Road, Rocky Point, Oregon. The two ATV occupants were transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center where Allyson J. Gorman was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger was treated for minor injuries and released.
