Following a raffle, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office employees presented a check for $1,000 to Marc Kane, Executive Director of the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center.
Throughout November and December, KCSO employees and volunteers purchased raffle tickets for items donated by individuals and local businesses. The proceeds of the raffle were donated to the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens Center Meals Program.
The senior center prepares and delivers 250+ meals per day.
KCSO employees were moved to help after learning that in recent years the state has cut their funding which normally would have resulted in ending the program. However, the Senior Center chose to ‘foot-the-bill’ and is paying the full cost of $6 per meal every day for every meal.
“It is so wonderful to see the spirit of giving back demonstrated by Klamath County Sheriff’s Office volunteers and employees,” said Chris Kaber, Klamath County Sheriff.
Kaber continued, “While planning a Christmas Party for themselves they integrated an idea to raise funds for a Senior Center program that provides meals for the elderly and infirm in the community. What a great office to be a part of.”
The employees and volunteers of Klamath County Sheriff’s Office thank the following individuals and businesses for their generous donations of prizes for the raffle.
