WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11PM THIS EVENING TO 5PM PDT TUESDAY

A strong low pressure system will bring moderate to strong winds to the forecast area through Tuesday. Difficult travel is expected in some areas, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Localized power outages are possible in the windiest areas.

Gusts to 50 mph are expected along the coast, with higher gusts at the headlands. Strong winds are expected in the Shasta Valley and in some areas east of the Cascades. Gusty winds are expected in the Rogue Valley. Very strong winds are expected over the highest mountain terrain.

  • Winds...South to southeast 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph.
  • Timing...Tonight through Tuesday evening.
  • Locations include...Sprague River, Macdoel, Beatty. Includes portions of highway 97 and highway 140.
  • Impacts...Strong, gusty winds will make travel difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Unsecured objects will be blown about.
