The following is a press release from Healthy Klamath

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Every three years the Healthy Klamath coalition membership creates a community health assessment to have a snapshot of where the county is on its health journey. Community members were recently asked for help in creating the vision for the assessment and now it is time to begin gathering information.

The assessment survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KCHealth2021. For those who prefer a hard copy of the survey, one may be requested by calling Klamath County Public Health at (541) 851-3737.

Feedback is also being taken on the draft visioning statement: To be a balanced, beautiful and accessible community.

For the purposes of the statement, balanced means having mental, spiritual, physical and emotional aspects working in unison for health and vitality.

Beautiful means seeing each other as human beings with infinite potential and worth; appreciating the natural surroundings of the community; providing space for people to reach their goals and dreams.

Accessible means resources in place to help people along their journey; room for everyone at the table; understanding historic trauma and other influences that are the root cause of lack, disease and unease.

Comments may be directed to the co-chairs of Healthy Klamath – Merritt Driscoll (merritt.driscoll@healthyklamath.org) and Cord Van Riper (cvanriper@kodfp.org). Feedback can also be provided at the Public Health number above.
