Klamath Falls, Ore. - Due to recent snow storms and more winter weather in the forecast, the Fremont-Winema National Forest Klamath Ranger District is opening the Great Meadow to over snow vehicles.

Great Meadow is located east of Lake of the Woods off Oregon State Highway 140 between Klamath Falls and Medford.

The Great Meadow Sno-Park has been open for winter recreation as snow conditions have allowed since November. At the end of this week, snow depth met the 18-inch minimum to allow over snow vehicle travel.

There are signs at the site indicating the status for over snow vehicles and visitors are encouraged to check the status as weather conditions change through the season.

Great Meadow Sno-Park serves as a launching point for a variety of winter recreation opportunities including snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
