Give a Mouse a Coffee

The Linkville Players are proud to wrap up their SEVENTH season of the Basin's beloved Little Linkville Series: Plays for Children with an adaptation of the classic Aesop Fable:  Town Mouse and Country Mouse.  The show will offer a six performances total split between April 21, 22, 27 and 28.  Saturday show times are 1 p.m. and Sundays are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

"Mouse" focuses on how important different perspectives are and how people (or in this case animals) of all kinds can learn to get a long and appreciate concepts, foods and places with which they are otherwise unfamiliar.

Directed by local director, actor and Arts educator, Jeff S. Press and written by Press, Agatha Wilson Winthrop and Aesop the play is set in a very Oregonian inspired coffee shop instead of the traditional forest or Greek forum.  The play draws in other famous Aesop characters like Tortoise from "The Tortoise and the Hare" (played by Heidi Neill) and Lion from "The Lion and the Mouse" (portrayed by Gabe Rudd) as well as introducing new characters like Lilly and Daisy, coffee shop owning flowers (played by Robyn Pfeifer and Tara Cramer respectively), Dog (played by Crystal Muno) and Owl (played by Logan Neill).  Reprising their narrator roles from previous shows in this season, Mathew Landsiedel and Brenden Ketchum will play Aesop and his fictional brother Oolio - who just wants to be a great story teller like his big brother!

"It's been fun to do a whole season of Aesop stories," says Muno who is also Little Linkville's creator and producer, "our writers did such a good job telling a story that has existed for centuries but also  intertwining pop culture references like twitter and unicorn lattes!  The beauty of the story is that it really is timeless."

"I'm very excited about this show," says Press, "I think the characters are very fun and my actors do a great job of bringing them to life.  I think people of all ages will enjoy Town Mouse and Country Mouse."

Tickets for Little Linkville shows are just $2 a piece and can be purchased in advance at Periwinkle Home or at the door prior to a show.
