Felony Parole Violation Arrest Following Pursuit

Thursday April 12, 2018 at approximately 1:30 PM Klamath County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in connection with a drug investigation. The black minivan pulled into a parking lot near So. 6th Street & Crater Lake Parkway. The male driver, later identified as, 44 year old Yancy Duane Gaunt, unlawfully left the traffic stop in the vehicle initiating the pursuit.

Klamath County Deputies pursed for approximately ten minutes from South 6th Street, through side streets in the area of Summers Lane and Altamont Drive. The van was stopped at Bartlett Ave near Summer Lane. The Oregon State Police and the Klamath Falls City Police assisted deputies in the apprehension. 

Gaunt had an outstanding warrant.   

The van was secured pending further investigation.

Arrested:  Gaunt, Yancy Duane
DOB: 3-23-1974
Charges: Attempt to Elude Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Criminal Driving While Suspended- Felony, and a Felony Parole Violation Warrant.
