If you missed the Canal Bowl last Friday, you missed an incredible match-up between two longtime rival teams. For 40-years the Vikings and the Pels have done battle in the basin. Klamath Union came into the game with only one win on the season and nothing to lose. The Vikings needed a win to play for an outright Skyline Conference championship next week against Henley at home.

The Pelicans came out fired up and held the fast-paced high-scoring Vikings offence scoreless in the first half. However, the second half did not go Klamath Union’s way. Mazama came out fired up. Scoring two rushing touchdowns within minutes inside the 3rd quarter and never looked back.

Final from Modoc Field: Mazama 28, Klamath Union 0.

Our next game of the week will be the Skyline Conference, winner take championship from Viking Field. When #7 Mazama (6-1 Overall, 3-0 Conference) hosts the undefeated #5 Henley Hornets (7-0 Overall, 3-0 Conference). Both teams have had an incredible year - but it all comes down to one game in Klamath Falls.

This should be an incredible matchup of two evenly matched teams. Read our Week 8 preview at https://www.klamathfallsnews.org/gameoftheweek
