Flash Flood Watch issued for Eastern Klamath and Western Lake Counties

Flood watch remains in effect from Sunday Afternoon through Monday Evening - up to three inches of rain possible

Flood Watch

Extensive runoff is likely due to excessive rainfall and snowmelt. Rises are expected on all creeks, streams and rivers, with flooding possible. Main stem flooding is possible on the Sprague River near Beatty by Tuesday.

Storm total rainfall amounts are expected to be 1 to 2 inches, with up to 3 inches possible in the mountains.

LOCATION
Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County and Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County

Including the cities of Beatty, Bly, Chemult, Crescent, Gilchrist, and Sprague River

WHEN
Sunday afternoon through Monday evening.

Precautionary & preparedness actions

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides.
