Oregon Tech (4-0) 37 37 74
Embry-Riddle, Ariz. 24 29 53

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Seth Erickson (Pictured) scored a game high 22 points and the OIT defense held strong as No.2 Oregon Tech jumped past Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 74-53 Friday night at the Eagle Activity Center.

With the win the Owls improved to 4-0 on the season with the Eagles slipping to 1-2 on the year.

"Another solid defensive effort tonight by the guys," said Head Coach Justin Parnell. "An outstanding job holding two opponents on the road to an average of 48 points a game. We have a lot to clean up and things get tougher from here on out but if we keep defending like we have been we are a pretty dang good basketball team."

The game was tied just twice early on with OIT never trailing. The Owls shot 44 percent from the floor in the first half to build a 37-24 halftime lead on 16 of 36 from the floor. Tech had a huge 28-16 rebound advantage in the first half.

Erickson added a game high eight rebounds and chipped in seven assists while Mitchell Fink had a game high eight assist to go along with 10 points and seven rebounds. Scotty Burge was the third Owl in double digits in scoring with 12-points including 3-of-4 from long distance.

The Owls had 24 assists on 29 made baskets on the night and held a big 51-31 rebound advantage.

OIT shot 42 % for the game from the floor and 41% from the 3-point line 11-27 while holding the Eagles to 33% for the game and just 1-of-8 from long range.

Oregon Tech will next play at Simpson University on Tuesday night, November 12 at 7:30 pm in Redding, California. The game can be heard live on the radio starting at 7:00 pm on 92-5 KLAD-FM with live links available at www.oregontechowls.com
