KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Ella Redkey Pool is making the most of a month-long shutdown by completing a variety of projects that share the common goal of enhancing the user experience. The outdoor, geothermally heated pool will be closed from Monday, March 2 through Friday, April 3 to accomplish these goals.

Women’s locker room renovation
The Ella Redkey Pool and City of Klamath Falls have plans for a full overhaul of the men’s and women’s locker rooms that will be completed over the years by dividing the projects into priority-based stages.

The first stage, renovating the shower-area of the women’s locker room, is scheduled to be completed in March.

The women’s locker room shower-area renovation will include:

  • Sandblasting walls

  • Painting walls

  • Replacing shower fixtures

  • Replacing the vanity and sinks

  • Adding new amenities

New recreation management software
The pool will be launching a new, user-friendly, recreation management software solution, CivicRec.

CivicRec will allow the community greater visibility into Ella Redkey Pool’s activities, classes, and special events, and offer a convenient online registration and payment process. The CivicRec solution is designed to be intuitive to navigate and easy for citizens to use. The platform is mobile-friendly, allowing the public to search for community activities and events, register, and remit payment even from a smartphone or tablet.

Account management is completely transparent with CivicRec, each member of Ella Redkey Pool will have a personalized account to view their membership, program registrations, credits, transfers, and more.

Checking in at the Pool will be simplified as well. Each member will receive a personalized card that correlates with their online account for quick scanning when entering the Pool.

Summer concession stand revamp
After working up an appetite in the Pool, wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a variety of food and drink options available right at Ella Redkey?

Over the March shutdown, the “picnic area office” will be transformed into a Snack Shack that offers all the necessities to quench your thirst, replenish calories burned off in the Pool, and provide hours of entertainment.

In addition to food and drinks, the Snack Shack will offer Pool games and activities available for purchase and complimentary life jacket rentals.

Chemical controller enhancements
The Ella Redkey Pool is always looking for new ways to enhance pool safety.

This March, the VersaChlor System, which regulates the amount of chlorine entering the Pool, will be replaced. The new system will provide years of regulated chlorine integration, making an optimal experience for swimmers.
