Dr. Cooper earned her Family Medicine specialty in 2014 at the OHSU Cascades East Family Practice Residency program on the Sky Lakes campus. She then continued at Cascades East as a faculty member and full-spectrum family physician for four years before moving to the Wellness Center.

She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, in 2011, and her Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2003. Her undergraduate degree in psychology and neurobiology is from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.

Prior to her career in medicine, Dr. Cooper worked with the North Carolina farmworker health program as an outreach health educator. She also worked as a community advocate with the Confederated tribes of Warm Springs in Central Oregon.

In addition to her clinical experience in Klamath Falls, she also served as the assistant medical director of the Klamath Country Juvenile Detention Center, worked as a health educator in Klamath Falls middle schools, and is currently serving on the board of Klamath Basin Behavioral Health.  During her time in Klamath Falls, Dr. Cooper and her husband have had two wonderful daughters and have enjoyed the endless natural beauty of the Klamath Basin.  You will often see her out and about on the trails!

Dr. Cooper is excited to infuse new ideas into the Wellness Center and hopes to expand and enhance its services.  Her enthusiasm and passion for combining healthy lifestyles and medicine with public health and community initiatives make her the perfect fit as the Wellness Center’s medical director.
