Klamath Falls, Ore. – A daytime astronomy event to observe the sun and moon will be offered Saturday morning, May 5, at the Klamath County Museum.

The event runs from 6 to 9:30 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of the museum at 1451 Main St.

“The moon will be approaching last quarter, which is a different view than we usually get,” said museum manager Todd Kepple. “We usually schedule our astronomy events in the evening hours, so we hope this outing will appeal to people who are early risers.”

Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars or telescopes if they have them.

A telescope equipped with a solar filter will be available for viewing the sun.
